During her first years as an artist Maryam has been employed and teaching clayware, pottery and sculpting in Iran Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism Organization (ICHHTO), Qazvin. In a few years, she was in charge of educating and certifying other teachers in clayware, pottery and sculpting in the same educational center.
Since the educational center of ICHHTO is a regarded educational center in Iran, and since the form of employment has been full time, alongside the fact that Maryam enjoyed the educational assignments and their beneficial purpose to the society commissioned to her apart from her employment in ICHHTO, Maryam has had less time to dedicate to her own creations and daily exhibitions in her early years as an artist.
The transition from her first years as a craftswoman, sculptor and an educator to her lastest years as an esteemed relief sculptor in Iran, contributed however to various private and public commissions which was accepted alongside her full time employment.
